Editorial Arena: Health Care, Medicine and Fitness

According to the World Health Organization, health is a state of absolute mental, emotional, physical and social well-being. Simply having no disease or infirmity doesn't mean that you are healthy.

WHO also defines our health as the resource for our everyday life, so we draw from it to do things that make us happy. The modern society has a lot of problems in terms of health of its population. Continuous stress, bad ecology, and lack of physical exercise don't do us good, as they lower our immunity and decrease vigor. Such conditions as depression or apathy are well known to every city-dweller now, and it is a real social scourge for many. On the one hand, medicine does not stand still, and provides us with new and more sophisticated ways of treatment for various conditions. Computerized medical equipment helps do clinical research and perform operations so complicated as humanity could ever dream of. The advance in modern chemistry and pharmacy has brought us thousands of hundreds of medications. These help maintain our health (such as vitamins or food supplements), treat illnesses of every body organ, make us look more beautiful (diet pills, skin care products, ;etc), and what not. Try to find a person who has never taken tablet for head ache, pain killers, sleeping pills, stuff like herbalife, cough syrups or antibiotics. It is unlikely that you will succeed. We often prefer to take a medication and fight the manifestation of an illness rather than try to find its cause and treat your organism as a whole. Such health problem as erectile dysfunction, for example, is very common among even young men, often due to abuse of cigarettes, alcohol, and unhealthy way of life. Fortunately, there are pills such as viagra that help men with those problems perform sexually just great! This kind of medicines does not require prescription and can even be bought in an online pharmacy, cheap and safe.. Or let us suppose a person has high cholesterol level. One of the things he or she should do first is alternating their diet. It is a well-known truth, that "we are what we eat", but unfortunately keeping a healthy diet would mean saying good-bye to all the things that we love, including fried meals, chips, most of the sweets, mayonnaise and other sauces, coke and soda, etc. The miracles that cosmetic surgery performs these days are also unbelievable. Breast implats, hair extensions, face lifting, rhinoplastics, laser... So forget about such defects as saggy breasts, wrinkles, acne or excessive fat when you come to visit a plastic surgeon. You can create and shape virtually any body you want and meet your own self in a few weeks. Isn't that a dream?

On the other hand, more and more people prefer to go natural and give up any pills or tablets at all because they seek for some alternative ways to health. This can be fitness excercises, yoga or pilates, herbal medicines, acupuncture, physical therapy, etc. Methods like these shoff effect much slower, and need a lot more time and effort to practice. These activities need to become a part of your routine and lifestyle if you wish to see any results. However, they also have no or little side effecs and they 'tune' your whole body, and not a particular organ, so when the results come to be seen, in the end they are more long-lasting and profound.

We've just talked about two extremes: abusing medications, relying solely on pharmacy, and dispensing of pills at all. But every person should find their own way. Which one to choose is only up to you. Try to make sure you are making a well-informed and thought-over decision in any case.
